Win: 2. Install Neo4j

Graphlytic uses Neo4j database as base data storage. You can use existing Neo4j database or install a new one. If you use exiting database be careful that Graphlytic stores some custom data into Neo4j database. Existing data stays unchanged because Graphlytic don't execute any change to existing data if it is not required by user. For better safety and data separation we recommend to use separate Neo4j database to work with Graphlytic. For information about required version see Requirements.

How to install Neo4j see Neo4j installation manual. It is strictly recommended to follow instructions at Neo4j manual. Here is short description how to install Neo4j but use this description with care. You can install Neo4j from exe installer or from zip file.

If you install Neo4j from exe installer, location of database will be selected during Neo4j start, so you can skip this step and continue in next steps of installation process.

Neo4j zip installer

If you install Neo4j from zip, you can configure location of database in Neo4j configuration file. Default configuration is 'data/databases/graph.db' which means that data will be stored into directory 'data' in Neo4j home directory. If you want to change this setting please edit main configuration file for the server that can be found at conf/neo4j.conf.

Example to set that location on disk of the database directory:
